Guitar Lessons

Guitar Lessons

I teach guitar to beginner and intermediate players who want to develop their skills and confidence while having fun playing music. My approach is centered around playing music first, while supplementing that with music theory, improvisation, and fretboard fluency. I want to give you the tools to progress, jam with others, and truly enjoy playing for years to come. Currently offering lessons for students ages 10 and up

Lessons - FAQ

  • I offer both in-person lessons from my studio in NE Portland, OR and online lessons via Zoom.

  • SCHEDULING: Reach out using the contact form on the site. I’ll reach out to set up a consultation call to talk about your guitar goals and learn more about where you are at on the instrument. If I’m a good fit for your goals we’ll schedule a date for in-person or online lessons. If I feel that I’m not a good fit - I’ll recommend another guitar teacher.

Payment: Venmo is currently the best payment method.

  • Guitar Lesson Cancellation Policy

I understand that life can be unpredictable, and I always strive to be flexible while maintaining a reliable lesson schedule. Please review the following cancellation policy:

    • Student Cancellations: If you need to cancel a lesson, please notify me as soon as possible. While I understand that things come up, I do not offer refunds for missed or canceled lessons.

    • Instructor Cancellations: If I need to cancel a lesson, I will make every effort to reschedule within the same month. If rescheduling is not possible, I will issue a refund for that lesson.

By booking a lesson, you acknowledge and agree to this policy. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to your musical growth!

  • I love to play in the Blues, Rock, and Pop genres, but I can also offer a wide breadth of knowledge on general guitar techniques, music theory, improvisation, and fretboard navigation approaches that apply to and benefit any music style.

  • For in-person lessons, just bring your guitar, and an instrument cable.

For online lessons, you’ll need a guitar, an amp or amp plug-in, a tuner (clip-on or a mobile app is fine), a stable internet connection, the Zoom app and a webcam with a built-in microphone.

  • Yes! I can create custom chord charts, and scale diagrams, that you can refer to while you practice.
